When ideas and thoughts are twisted so tight It's mission to see the wrong from the right When there's no correct way to proceed on your route When the haste's all you got with you on your pursuit Oh! Take it apart, using your heart Go back to the start and take it apart yeah 'Cause it's all in a mess from the morn to the eve And as thick as the trunk with the rings that you read In a forest as dark as your thoughts that prevail And it seems that your hopes all proceed like a snail Oh! Take it apart, using your heart Go back to the start and take it apart man So all pieces are scattered around on the floor And you don't think that you can produce anymore And the puzzle's so far from it being complete... (I got no idea what's going on) Oh! Take it apart, using your heart Go back to the start and take it apart yeah So you lost and you crossed Into full on despair But then one of the pieces Floats up in the air The bricks of your life Cause a storm in the sand And they all fit together And land in your hand

Still got the straight and the booze for the blues Still got the mate just to lengthen my fuse Still got the Mac for the hang in the rain Still got the tunes for the food in my brain Born in the era of the funk and the flare Dungaree wearer, kid punk starer Maybe I fear her in the bunk with a bear Became a thinker... had a skunk nightmare Still got the stick with string and a pick Still got the plate with the delicious lick Still got the spin of the disc in the mist Still got the scent of drink with a twist Born in the era of the funk and the flare Dungaree wearer, kid punk starer Maybe I fear her in the bunk with a bear Became a thinker yeah yeah!... had a skunk nightmare Still got the greens and the reds with the meat! Still got the love for the movie house seat! Still got the paint and the pad for the lead Still got the brush with a dream in my head! Born in the era of the funk and the flare Dungaree wearer, kid punk starer Maybe I fear her in the bunk with a bear Became a thinker... had a skunk nightmare

Meet me at the top of a grassy hill Run back down soon to the golden sand Mornin' flight, feathered friends New emotions that we lend Feasting on sunny days Bountiful cloud of grey Greet me with a mind forever calm and still Lead me by the hand to a colder land Mornin' Flight, feathered friends New emotions that we lend Daytime dream you can keep Sweet young things in their sleep

Cold water, cold, salt water Take a swim in the cold salt water Feel the sand between your toes and Smell the sea life with your nose Touch the shells within your hands and Catch the vibe from distant lands Cold water, cold, salt water Take a swim in the cold salt water So salty, salty, salty, salty, salty air! Seagulls in the sky they fly away Without a single care Apples of my eye they bring a smile That we all can share Cold water, cold, salt water Take a swim in the cold salt water

Captured in the bubble Of a dusky poolside view Climbing to the castle Lit by summer's tipsy moon Hoping to get caught within This cleansing, foreign rain Strolling through the vineyards Where I'm finding peace no pain Grandfather clock despairs again The frivolity of youth Resounding chime shall not refrain Nor shall the drunk uncouth Morning turns up gingerly There's lots the night ain't told her Croissant scent drifts tenderly To heal the weakest soldier And she's gone... And she's gone She turned to dusk yeah Coz she felt she must yeah! Barefoot strolls upon the lawn And ghosts surround the tower Rock face he bright leaf adorned With lushes sweet and sour Grandfather clock despairs again The frivolity of youth Resounding chime shall not refrain Nor shall the drunk uncouth Morning turns up gingerly There's lots the night ain't told her Croissant scent drifts tenderly To heal the weakest soldier Knock it back in the twightlight Take the stage for your zeitgeist Making waves in the moonlight Stumbling slow in the cold night air

Fire and teeth in the hungry heat Unkempt mind, red mist streak Pot get close to bubble and burn Ardent head may never learn These are the details of an awkward mind These are the details in the dark These are the details o' some trouble time These are the details from the heart Untamed feelings from the past Suppressed so long but now unmasked You feel it rise from deep inside A raging wave, a turning tide These are the details of an untrained mind These are the details in the dark These are the details o' some trouble time These are the details from the heart Take some time So embers cool Soda and lime Plunge in pool Good vibe climb Moscow Mule Don't be the waves Jump into blue Blue, blue

Gladly Glade 03:10
Where sunbeams stream Through punctured leaves And strike the ground Where soil breathes Into the trees so dark and rich Who build the fires in the ditch The ground is dry but whistles wet For fine times in the woods are met And deep within the forest's dream The mind what boggles starts to gleam In gladly glade where we all found some grace In which to rest and find one's special place To be outdoors yet inside mellow camps The mystery in burning candle lamps In gladly glade is autumn's yield scent And birdsong that the summer/spring had lent To be the breeze and tussock; grassy knoll Where all layers of the mind unfold So through the night of sticks and stones We wander with our weathered bones Of feelings we were unafraid Inside the realm of Gladly Glade We Gladly pitched a home per chance And madly, gladely, deeply, danced We madly, gladely deeply danced

Sail On You 03:16
And once the dust does settle on your non-sting nettle I'll be here again And if the tide is distant from the seashore listen, we can heal again And if the boat does take us to an unknown region in the winter time We'll check the love resistance when the water glistens in a gliding line And sail on through to catch the butterfly I know she's always mine and I know she's always yours I sail on you the joy is cut and dried I see the love is on and we're taking what we want And when the disc does reel only to reveal thatcha eased again And if the tone is mending and the sound is sending out a rhyming line and if the boat goes for us round the crispest chorus in a darker time Turn up the good old volume so the sound don't con you when ya feeling fine Consume the tune, grow from the melody You know it's ending now, gonna have to hear again Consume it soon! Absorb the sweetest song You know it seemed so short when you wished that it were long Drifting at midnight dancing like candlelight Swimming in rainstorms Laughing until the dawn And sail on through to catch the butterfly I know she's always mine and I know she's always yours I sail on you the joy is cut and dried I see the love is on and we're taking what we want Jump into the boat I'm rowing now... Woo hoo yeah! Shooby Doop

Tymber 03:33
Cold night backdrop white flash light Rain doesn't care, aligns in the air Timber views reflect in eyes The mountainous horizon Sweet day sunrise dark tree shadows Dust on the mouth of a rampant river Chicken bones and thunderous moans Crunch loud and bring goodbyes in Fields of loss and murky meadows Rust on the wheels of a burnt out heart Bovine stock of critter gravy Bubbling in the pyschosphere Clouds of guilt ride flustered gales Escaping from the forest People made from muddied sticks Screech harmonies un-chorussed Holes and cracks that stretch the ground And lilies in the mayhem Perfect sound of bats that flap Deep within the brain stem Corn forlorn and treacle sap Chewed up ropy ladder Seek the fear without a map Turn the scarecrow madder Timber's got no leaves Can't see the wood for the trees

about

For every $10 this album receives I will be donating a percentage to The National Autistic Society.

Cheers to whoever is listening to and digging this generous slice of Alex Burgess music. It's some of my proudest work to date and I relished every second of its' musical journey.

The bulk of the songs were conceived at home on the Gold Coast, Queensland and recorded in various rooms of our house using a decade old version of GarageBand on a MacBook that is slowly dying. But the songs are very much alive, strongly personal, from the heart and created to put some groove in our lives.

Big thanks also goes to my lovely wife Michelle, my incredible parents Jim and Chris, my awesome sister Liz and the rest of the Glover's. Thanks also to The Hill's, Gilly, the Birt's, Sam and Eliza Deakins, The Henderson's, the Yeadons, the Bhoguns, the Stacey's, the Smith's, Tim Mortelmans, Barnaby and Tania Mitchell, The Bedogni's, Bukola Charles, the Butterworth's, Kerryn Bear, Marc Ozall, Chris and Gloria Bretz, Emilio Barba, Prity Parmar, Charlie and Sue Deakins, Suz, Fenella, Mary Tyler, David and Michelle Hartnup, the Ashcrofts, the Griffo's, the Jacobs's, the Liussi's, the Jacobson's, Jarrod La Bine, Oliver and Erica Rix, Joel, Dan McCabe, Luke and Priscilla and all my MSHS friends for all of your phenomenal support and appreciation of my music.

If anyone ever needs a song about anything whatsoever, I can do it. Just let me know!

Love,
Alex
